On Friday, August 25, 2011, the ownership group at Lake Norman Sporting Arms and Range, Inc. announced the selection of the Tecta America Carolinas to provide phase one of the Range at Lake Norman’s rooftop solar array.
Tricia Sisson, Managing Director of the Range at Lake Norman said, “The Range at Lake Norman is proud to be doing its part to lessen our impact on the environment. We started bycommitting to a very limited lead firearms facility, by partnering with ammunition manufacturers that will provide us with lead free ammo. We have spent a tremendous amount of time in our building design reducing runoff from the property through an extensive rain garden and bi-retention pond. Our final piece is to work with Tecta America Carolinas to install phase one of solararray. This will allow us to harness the power of the sun to reduce our dependence on power generated by Energy United.”
“We expect to be heavy power users once our facility is operational in October,” said David Stukbauer, partner in the Range at Lake Norman and Retail Director. “By installing a solar system, we can lessen our carbon footprint and reduce our energy costs to run this state of the art facility”
Tim Munson with Tecta America Carolinas stated, “it is great to see new industries considering renewable energy solutions, and we are proud to be working with the ownership group at the Range, to bring an innovative solution to renewable energy to an industry that’s not usually on the forefront of conservation and environmental friendliness.”
